Align to its corporate vision, Indonesia Power has given a considerable attention on the efforts of sustainable environmental management. All of Generating Business Units (GBU) has implemented Environmental Management System and awarded ISO 14001.

Ministry of Environmental launched PROPER as a program of evaluate the company's environmental management. Six GBUs that operates thermal and geothermal power plant are BLUE RANK awardees, while two GBUs that operate Hydro Electric Power Plant do not evaluate yet. Indonesia Power continuously effort to reach the highest standard in PROPER (green rank), through increase the intensity of environmental activities and integrate the community development activities. Indonesia Power also modify some power plant's parts for get more resources efficiency.

Indonesia Power has Improving the quality and quantity of Citarum River Basin through various programs such as co work West Bandung Government to initiate "Tepung Lawung" for increasing engagement of companies around the Citarum River Basin for take the effort of Citarum quality improvement. Tepung Lawung has collected 56 companies who participates the reforestation programs.

Community also involves to the reforestation program at the Saguling Dam's catchment area such as Coffee planting program at Pangalengan. "Salak Pondoh" planting program has implemented at Mica Dam's catchment area. Indonesia Power also participate to the reforesting program at Dieng Plateau

Co work to ESP-USAID, Indonesia Power implements the program of environmental education to many villages at West Bandung District. The aim of the program is to increase community awareness for take care the environment of Citarum River Basin. Better quality and quantity of Citarum River can improve community quality, while to protect the Saguling Hydro Electric Power Plant's operation.

For conserving Jalak Bali (Leucopsar rothschildi), Indonesia Power has contributed to build a giant cage for bird breeding in West Bali National Park.

Some waste from plant operation can changes to something useful and for increasing community's economic grade, such as production of concrete from coal ash, and also production of biogas from enceng gondok (Eichornia crassipes).

For contribute to reduce greenhouse effect, Indonesia Power participates in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) for minihydro Power Plant of Siteki, Plumbungan, Ketenger and Cileunca. Indonesia Power also seek another chance for this scheme such as Power Plant Gasification, Up rating for Combined Cycle Power Plant, and increase power plants efficiency.
